Water-based Two-component Polyurethane Topcoat

Jiangmen Paint's water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat, applied as a protective coating for energy storage electrical boxes, offers the advantages of good weather resistance, UV resistance, and anti-chalking properties.

I. Composition

The water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat is a water-based two-component coating, divided into Component A and Component B. Component A consists of water-based hydroxyl-containing resin, pigments and fillers, film-forming auxiliaries, special additives, and water. Component B is a modified aliphatic polyisocyanate curing agent component. When in use, Components A and B are mixed in a certain proportion.

II. Characteristics

-High gloss and high fullness, excellent weather resistance.

-Good film hardness, adhesion, and wear resistance.

-Good corrosion resistance, not easily affected by corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, oils, solvents, and salts.

III. Applications

Suitable for anti-corrosion topcoat painting of energy storage electrical boxes, construction machinery, steel structures, rail transit facilities, etc.

IV. Technical Indicators

-Solid content: ≥40%

-Theoretical coverage rate: ≥8m²/L

-Anti-sag property (dry film thickness): ≥60μm

-Volatile organic compound (VOC) content: ≤200g/L

-Film appearance and color: The film is flat and smooth, and the color is in line with the sample.

-Gloss (60°): Bright paint 85%; Matt and semi-matt paints are in line with the sample.

-Surface drying: ≤1h

-Through drying: ≤24h

-Cross-cut test (adhesion): ≤1 grade

-Bending test: ≤2mm

-Hardness (pencil): ≥H

-Impact resistance: ≥50cm

-Water resistance, 168h: No blistering, no peeling, slight discoloration allowed.

-Alkali resistance, 48h: No blistering, no peeling, slight discoloration allowed.

-Acid resistance, 48h: No blistering, no peeling, slight discoloration allowed.

-Water resistance (composite coating), 240h: No blistering, no rusting, slight discoloration allowed.

-Salt spray resistance (composite coating), 750h: No blistering, no rusting, no cracking, unidirectional rusting less than 2mm.

-Artificial accelerated aging test (composite coating), 1000h: Chalking ≤1, whiteness 2, gloss loss 2.

V. Construction Methods

-The coating must be uniformly mixed with the curing agent in the specified ratio, thoroughly stirred, and allowed to mature for approximately 15 minutes before spraying.

-Before spraying, the surface of the object to be painted should be cleaned of water, oil, rust, dust, and attached dirt. The steel surface should be sandblasted or mechanically ground to reach Sa2.5 grade or St3 grade.

-After opening the can, the coating should be fully stirred evenly.

-After the coating is mixed, it has a limited pot life (at 20°C, generally 2.5 hours) and must be used up within the limited time.

-Suitable construction environment: temperature ≥10°C, relative humidity 80%. When the temperature is low or the humidity is high, measures should be taken to heat up and dehumidify.
